Copyright Policy

Who owns the work published here, what you may do with it, and how to report an infringement.

Draft prepared for review

This Copyright Policy is a working draft prepared for internal review. It has not yet been reviewed or approved by a qualified Indian lawyer, and it must be reviewed and signed off by one before it is published as binding or relied upon by anyone.

Nothing on this page is legal, tax or financial advice. Until that review is complete, the terms actually agreed with you in writing take precedence over anything stated here.

Ownership

© 2026 Aavira Films. All rights reserved. Every photograph, film, edit, caption, page of writing, design element, layout and piece of code published on this website is protected by copyright under the Copyright Act, 1957 and the international conventions India is party to. Copyright in the photographs and films we make belongs to Aavira Films as the author of the work, unless a signed agreement with a client or a collaborator says otherwise. Commissioning a shoot buys you a licence to use the work, on the terms set out in your agreement — it does not, by itself, transfer copyright. Aavira Films is a brand operated by KSBM INFOTECH PVT LTD. Where a rights assertion, a takedown or a licence needs to be made against a legal entity, that entity is KSBM INFOTECH PVT LTD.

What you may do

You are welcome to view this site, to share a link to any page on it, and to save a page for your own private, non-commercial reference. Press, publications and blogs may reproduce a small number of images from this site to illustrate an article about Aavira Films or about an event we photographed, provided the image is not cropped or altered, it carries a visible credit to Aavira Films, and — where the article is online — the credit links back to this website. If you are not sure, ask us; we say yes far more often than no. Our clients may use their own images on the terms in their booking agreement.

What you may not do

Without our prior written permission you may not: • copy, download, republish, re-upload or redistribute any photograph or film from this site; • use any of our work commercially, including in advertising, on a vendor's own portfolio, in a listing, on a marketplace, or in a pitch; • crop, recolour, filter, re-edit, screenshot, apply an overlay to, or otherwise alter any of our work; • remove, obscure or alter a watermark, a credit, a caption or the embedded metadata in a file; • use our work to train, fine-tune or evaluate a machine learning or generative artificial intelligence model, or to create a derivative or synthetic work from it; • scrape, mirror, hot-link or bulk-download any part of this site by any automated means; • present our work as your own, or as the work of any other studio, photographer or vendor. A vendor who worked at the same event does not acquire any right to our photographs of it by having been there.

Client licences

When we complete a commission, you receive a licence to use the delivered work. The exact scope — personal use, print, social media, commercial use, duration, territory and whether it is exclusive — is set out in your booking agreement, and that agreement governs. Unless your agreement says otherwise, a client licence is a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the delivered images and films for your own personal, non-commercial purposes, including printing them and sharing them on your own social accounts. Please credit us where you can — it is not a condition of your licence, but it matters to a small studio. Please do not apply heavy filters or re-edit delivered work and then publish it as ours. A client licence does not extend to vendors, venues, planners or publications. They must ask us directly, and we will usually agree.

Our right to use the work

We reserve the right to use the work we create in our own portfolio, on this website, in our social channels, in submissions to publications and competitions, and in our own marketing — subject always to the consent and opt-out arrangements set out in our Portfolio Usage Policy. If you would prefer your images were not published, tell us. That request is honoured, and it is set out in full on the Portfolio Usage page.

Music, fonts and third-party material

Music used in our films is licensed for the specific use in which you receive it. That licence covers the film as delivered; it does not travel with the audio, and it does not let you re-use the track separately. Social platforms sometimes mute or block a film because of an automated music claim, even where the track is properly licensed. Where that happens we will help you resolve it or supply an alternative cut. Fonts, plugins, icons, presets and libraries used on this site or in our work are licensed to us by their respective owners and remain their property.

Material you send us

You keep the copyright in anything you send us — an enquiry, a mood board, a reference image, a testimonial, a photograph of your own. By sending it, you grant us permission to use it for the purpose you sent it for. Where you send us a testimonial or a review, you also permit us to publish it with your first name, unless you tell us otherwise. Please send us only material you actually have the right to send. Do not send us another photographer's work as a reference without saying whose it is.

Reporting an infringement

If you believe material on this website infringes your copyright, tell us and we will act quickly. Please include: your name and contact details; identification of the work you say is infringed; the exact page address on this site where the material appears; a statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the rights holder or by law; a statement that the information you have given is accurate and that you are the rights holder or authorised to act for them; and your signature, physical or electronic. Send it to our contact page, or by post to India. We will acknowledge it, review it, and where the complaint is well founded we will remove or disable access to the material — normally within 36 hours of a valid notice, in line with the Information Technology (Intermediary Guidelines) Rules.

If your material was removed

If we remove something you posted or supplied and you believe that was a mistake, write to us with your reasons and any evidence of your rights. We will review the decision and restore the material if the objection does not hold up. Where we receive competing claims to the same work, we will keep the material offline until the position is clear.

Repeat infringement

We will restrict or close the account of anyone who repeatedly infringes copyright through this website, and we will decline future work with them.

Trademarks

"Aavira Films", our logo, our wordmark and our visual identity are our marks, held by KSBM INFOTECH PVT LTD. They may not be used without our written permission, except in the limited ways described in our Partner Program Terms or in editorial coverage that identifies us accurately. Other names, logos and marks that appear on this site belong to their respective owners and are used descriptively.

Licensing and permissions

We license our work. If you want to use a photograph or a film — as a venue, a planner, a brand, a publication or a vendor — write to us with the image, where you want to use it, for how long and in what territory, and we will come back with terms. Most requests are straightforward and many are granted at no charge with a credit. Asking first takes a minute and is always cheaper than the alternative.
