The day it became official
Roka, sagai or a ring over dinner — an engagement is a shorter, warmer, far more crowded day than a wedding, and it is usually the first time both families are properly in the same room. It deserves more than phone photographs.
What we cover
The four things nobody wants missed
An engagement runs to a few hours, not a few days. Everything below happens once, quickly, in a room full of people.
The ring going on
It lasts about four seconds and it is the photograph everybody asks for. We are on it from a fixed position with a second camera on the faces watching, so it is never missed.
Two families meeting
For a lot of engagements this is the first time both sides are in one room. Those introductions — the handshakes, the sizing-up, the laughing — are the frames that matter years later.
The rituals
Roka, sagai, chunni chadai, tilak. Short ceremonies with a lot packed into them, and no second take. We ask what yours involves beforehand.
The speeches and the toast
Usually unrehearsed, usually the funniest thing all evening. Covered with proper audio if you have added a film.
How it is shot
Small event, full crew discipline
Engagements are often held in restaurants, banquet rooms or living rooms — spaces with mixed lighting, low ceilings and no room to move. We scout the space beforehand, plan our positions, and bring light we can shape rather than a flash pointed at the ceiling.
Because the ceremony itself can be over in minutes, we work with at least two cameras: one locked on the exchange, one on the faces reacting to it.

How the evening usually goes

Arrival and detail
We arrive before the guests to photograph the room, the rings, the outfits and the flowers while everything is still untouched.

Guests and greeting
Candid coverage as the room fills — the arrivals, the introductions and the small groups that form.
- 03
The ceremony
Fixed positions for the exchange itself, then a second angle on the reactions. Family portraits immediately after, while everyone is still together.
- 04
Dinner and the evening
The toast, the cutting, the dancing if there is any. We stay until the energy in the room drops rather than until a clock says so.
Add a film
Two minutes worth keeping
An engagement film is short by nature and better for it. We record the ceremony audio, the speeches and the toast properly, and cut a film you can send to relatives who could not travel — often within days rather than weeks.
If the wedding is with us too, we shoot the engagement with the wedding film in mind, so the two eventually sit together as one story.
